Bought a model 459H9H 45 hp. If you know the year I would appreciate passing it on. The wiring harness which came with it has a switch key attached. The other end has wire terminals that I assume connect to the terminal block on the port side of engine. My question is how do you get battery power to the engine and the switch? That wiring harness was not included. I assume a hot wire comes from the battery to the solenoid and a ground should be made somewhere on the engine block but I don't see the obvious place. How does the ignition switch get power? Any guidance will really be appreciated.

Hot or red from the battery attaches to one side of the start solenoid. (opposite where the starter motor wire attaches) You will see a smaller diameter red wire attached there also. This wire runs to the red terminal on the engine block You attach the red wire from the cable to the red terminal and it will deliver power to the switch if it is attached properly to the "B" terminal on the switch.

Follow all other colors as marked on the exhaust cover
