Plugs should be surface gap--no gap to set. Champion L20V or UL18V, or NGK BUHW.

If you have a distributor, points should be set at .010 open at the top of a lobe. Timing should be 32 degrees before top dead center at wide open throttle. The large line on the pointer on the block is 36 degrees so if you have the pointer with multiple lines 32 degrees is the 36 degree mark on the flywheel set to 4 lines to the left of the large line. If there is only one line, there should be a decal on the flywheel and you set 32 to the large line on the pointer.
