Force 1998 40 steering help

I just bought a force 40 hp for my 1963 13 Boston whaler. It did not come with any steering cables and i am having trouble finding any on line. Will merc steering parts work on this motor? i don't know alot about these motors but i want to learn! thanks for any info.

This is something that you are going to have to compare to find the ones that will work best. You will need to first compare the ends for attachment style[at the front and at the motor and then measure for length.
