I have a 1970 Chrysler 45 hp model 455HA. 2 questions.

1. the water pump output is more like a spray than a solid stream is this normal????
2. I notice than when motor is idleing that is see tiny bubbles coming from around lower unit gasket, is this an indication that gasket/seal needs replacing???

1 Usually normal, on muffs, as long as the stream improves as the engine speeds up in the water.
2 The only gasket down there is the one between the gearcase and lower unit mid-casting. The gearcase is sealed and contains only lower unit oil. No gases are inside it so you are probably seeing exhaust issuing from other holes.

When it is on the water it sprays at idle and lower speed. Then at higher speeds it kind of pours out.
thanx for the reply it helps ease my mind a little. Just don't want it to over heat from a faulty water circulation.
