need head gasket cover torque specs for 1990 force 90hp model 906x90a

anyone know what the torque specs might be for this .....1990 90hp force....changed the head gasket....need the specs to tighten the bolts


someone posted for me earlier the following info which i didn't understand....

093699 or later 120 lbs/inch

093698 or lower 225 lbs/inch

where do i find that number? to identify which one i have?

anyone know how i identify the motor to knwo which torque setting to use

I would think that the serial number should be on a metal tag or sticker on the transom clamp of the motor close to the model number 906X90A. If no serial number then my "guess" would be 225 inch pounds. Maybe someone else would be willing to clarify???

engine block has a white sticker with jsut the model number ...i will tak e a look for the other serial nmber

just looked....there is a tag...but the serial and model numbers are both worn off..... wyould it be on any other part of the motor?

I don't think so. Is there any way that you can take a close up picture of the block where the head and block are bolted together?

what would you be looking for in taking pix of that view? my guess is that it is 225 vs. 120....as i turned my torque wrench at 20 lbs foot lbs....on a separate bolt....which equtes to abouit 240 lbs/inch....would seem to be the right torque amount...certainly, i don't think 120......thoughts...?
