1989 Force 50HP Serial Number

I am looknig for the model number for a 1989 Force 50 HP outboard. I can only find the serial number: 0E023692. The serial number is on a tag on the tilt arm, but can not find a model number anywhere. Any help?

Good news, your motor is a 1992 model.

Thats is good. The guy that sold it to me said it was an '89. I wondered how it could be that when Mecury Marine didn't start their serial numbers until early 90's. How do I find the model number now?

I don't think you are gonna be able to find a model number if it isn't on the id tag.

It should look something like this:
HO507F92c

The only model specific parts are going to be the ignition system, the fuel pump, and recirculation systems. These can be id'd by serial number.
