Re: what year is my force

Welcome to iboats.

Sorry but those numbers don't help.

Lets try to narrow it down a little.
The 40 was made from 1992 - 1999.

Is the propeller solid in the center, or does it have thru hub exhaust?

Is the vertical fin above the propeller a flat piece of metal, or is it hollow?

What color are the coils?

Does it have a blue cd module connected to the coils?

Or does it have a switchbox connected to the coils?

If it has a switchbox, do the wires come out of it and are there bullet connectors on the wires?

Or does the switchbox have terminals on it, with wires connected to the terminals?

Can you post a photo of the ignition components?

Re: what year is my force

Unfortunately the serial number is/was in only one location, on the manufacturer's id tag located on the starboard side of the transom bracket.

Serial number would be similar to "OE138645"

Thru hub exhaust makes it a 1995-1999 model.

Thats as far as I can get you with the info.
But you can go to this website and compare the individual components of the 1995-1999 models.
I would start by viewing the ignition and electrical components, as there were 2 very distinct systems, one with a switchbox and coils, the other with cdm modules.
