Here is my problem--

Once motor warms up- it runs great. If I shut it down after running for a while-- and let it cool off a bit, say 5 or more minutes, it is hard starting. Once it fires and I let it warm a tad-- but when I put it in gear, it stalls or "Bogs". I finally went and repumped the fuel bulb, and that seems to make it go away.

The fuel primer bulb gets nice and hard when I do my initial start up, but it seems to go soft after a bit.

Thanks for any help--

I had the same trouble.
Replace the bulb, put on a new fuel diaphram, and adjusted the carbs to
1 and 1/4 turns from light seat, instead of what the book said, which is 7/8.

Last outing the problem seems to have gone away.

Bulb 10 bucks
Fuel pump kit 13 buck and change ( Iboats)
Carb adjust free tip from Iboater

Smooth running PRICELESS.

Hope this helps,

Mike

You may also be having a problem with the check valves in your fuel pump. If changing the primer ball doesn't fix it, you may want to remove the fuel pump housing and try to see if the check valves are sticking. You have to push them gentley several times to see if the disk sticks. If they are sticking, they cost about $5 each. Two are easy to replace, the third has to be dremeled or slide hammered out of a blind hole.
