I have a Force 50, 2 stroke, 2 cylinder gray in color. The label with the serial number has faded out. Where else can I find the number so I can determine the year?

I used to own a 1986 Force, 50HP (white). Is the model # visible still on the manufactures plate? If so, you might be able to track it down using the model #.

Attached is a picture of my old one, if that helps.

Re: Force 50 Where to find serial or model number

Bill,

What worked for me is the following:

1. Take a wide tipped magic marker and a paper towel to the motor.
2. Mark over the top line of the number plate with the magic marker, then immediately scrub the ink off with the paper towel.
3. Move on down repeating the above on the serial number, horsepower/rpm line, etc.
4. If you cannot read a line, repeat the above.
5. Finally, if you still cannot read all of the numbers, take a small penlight and hold it at a very low angle to the plate. The numbers should be visible.

Does it have thru hub exhaust?
What color are the coils?
Does it have separate coils and cd modules, or a combined cdm?
What does the switchbox look like, all the wires hanging out the end with bullet connectors, or wires attaching separately to a terminal strip?

Can you post a few photos?
