1983 Force 85hp Need Carburator Part

Good afternoon Force gurus,

Well I've been searching for the follwing part for one of my WE-4 Carb without success.

I need part F10173 - Jet-bottom, which is the bolt that holds the float bowl together. Everywhere I turn to... it says discontinued by mercury.

I was looking for suggestions on where to look online, by phone etc.... to find one of these parts. If I need to buy the whole Carburator I will~!
I can't run the motor without this part.

Try www.tcoutboard.com, but you will have to tell them the make and model of your engine, even if you won't tell us.

Oops sorry about that guys newbie here! My model is 856XC3L which is a 1983 Force 85 HP. The carbs are WE-4

If you still haven`t found it, Try AAA marine Service/machine shop in Crystal river FL. Ask for Malloy. They have a lot of old Force parts. Some of the Briggs/Stratton engines had same setup for carb.

Well no luck so far in finding the pat! Thanks for the helpful recommendations. Nobody seems to carry any of these fuel jets anymore since they are discontinued by merc. If anybody knows any other place to get this part or even the whole carburator i'll be ecstatic as I can't run the motor without this tiny little part.

I found a 1989 Force 85 hp carburator on ebay~! Would this fit on my 1983 Force 85 hp motor?

I called boats.net and also dougrussel.com since they both have the part listed on their site, however, they both don't have any and can't get them.

Well I guess I'll have to go for the 1989 Carburator and see if it will fit on my motor.

Just a little update for you all. I found a smaller fuel jet which apparently can be drilled to the right size from www.sea-way.com. When I asked for the part no F10173 they immediately told me that they didn't have any, but that they had a different part which is an exact fit except for the fuel holes in the jet. these are .048's and I'll need to get them drilled to .074's. I'll update you on my progress with the drilling when I get the part. thanks to everyone who helped me with this hard to find part.
