new mercury control box older force motor??

I am buying a new boat that comes with a new mercury control box that has the round I think 14 pin connector on the control cable. Is there an adabper that can be purchased to connect the new cable to the 1990 force cable?? The Force motor was made by mercury and I currently have a quicksilver control box on the old boat this is a 40 HP

yes there is an adapter to go from new 14pin to old 10 pin

That's great news. Are these adapters readily available from most boat dealers or a special order directly from Mercury??? I couldn't find any information on adapters is there some information on this site as to part number or anything???

Then I assume that the new control cable simply connects to the female connector coming out of the engine???

I was really wondering how I was going to handle this so this information is a big relief.
