'69 Chrysler 35 hp - alternator?

Hi,

How can I tell if my motor has an alternator built in? I know what one looks like in a car, but that isn't helping much here. Will this motor automatically charge my battery? It has electric start.

I'm told that my motor is the 3542.

I doubt this motor has an alternator the model number 3542
35 = HP
4 = Standard shaft electric start
2 = Means it was built in Canada

3562 would have an alternator. The 6 indicates standard shaft, electric start with alternator.

I actually have the same question. My Chryslter 35HP is model #3555. Would this model have an alternator?

Most alt sys I have seem on small engines, had a belt driving the alt as attached or similar. I can ck my manual later today if neded/requested.
