Force Shifting Problem

I have a 1995 Force 70 hp outboard. I am having trouble shifting into forward (reverse is no problem) when I move forward on the stick I get a clicking noise from the engine and then an eventual clunk into gear. It seems to be getting worse. Any help would be appreciated

Have you tried adjusting the cable? If that doesnt do it maybe the "dog clutch" is going out. I am not sure about Force motors but when my dog clutch was going on my Johnson I was able to flip it around and get more life out of it.
