Force 90- Coil/part Question?

Well....I'm still learning....and here is another question:
Will a 1990 force 50hp coil work on and fit a 1990 force 90hp coil? They look identical (...the blue ones...prestolite?)
How about the CDM module?...or other parts.
I don't have any problems with mine yet....but it never hurts to get a few good spare parts?
Also, would replacing these parts upgrade the performance at all? (it's not bad right now...but nothing like an extra mph).

the coils are the same so maybe the other parts will work for ya'

would anyone no how to tell if coils are good and where i can purchase ignition parts for my 1991 1700 capri bayliner l drive 90 hp 3cyl

Welcome to iboats.

You might want to get yourself a factory service manual, or a Clymer Force repair manual. You are going to be doing your own service and repairs for the most part, as most shops won't service that motor.

Parts for the 90 hp outboard version will work.
