Cant find Serial Number on FORCE engine (120hp Ldrive)

Fellow Boat enthusiasts,
I cant find the serial number on my boat engine (1990 Force 120hp LDrive). I only need to know if its 1990 model A, B or C, so I can order parts (water pump and carb service kits).
Is it a sticker which might have been lost....or its a metal plate, hidden somewhere?

Any easy sign to recognize model A, B or C (1990)?

Your kind assistance is highly appreciated.

Don't know what the difference is on the a-b-c models.
I checked a few things, like the fuel pump, and ignition, they appear to be the same. Gearcase or carbs may be the difference.

There is usually a number stamped into the block high up by #1 cylinder right next to the head. Get this number and call Mercury. They can tell you the year and model.
