Hi y'awl, My new acquisition, 1997 Force 15hp requires many pulls to start when cold, This bugs me. once started it will start real easy for the rest of the day ... dont have any clues for now and would like to read expert's comments on that.

Re: Force 15hp cold start

Squeezing primer bulb?
Choke fully closing?

Definitely a fuel related problem.

Try putting a small amount of premixed fuel in a spray bottle and giving it a few sprays into the carb, before trying to start it.

Re: Force 15hp cold start

roscoe: you are right on the problem that was found on this motor .... gasoline is not being sucked in when card is dry ... because the choke door is the 9.9 model installed on a 15hp. Manufacturing error ....

this should be corrected soon ..... hopefully it should start easy afterwards. will let you know
