1989 force 150 no spark on top plug

I have no spark on the top plug the rest are all fine. If I plug the coil wire into another power wire I get spark so think the coil is good .. But I cant get spark off eitherpower wire on one power pack is the power pack bad ? Or could it be something else hate to waste 268 dollars if its not the power pack

Welcome ac36.<br /><br />Either the power pack is bad, or it isn't getting the signal to fire from the trigger.<br /><br />If you swap the pack with another one, you will know if it is the pack or the trigger.

Same thing happened to my 150 hp. The top plug would not fire. I swapped power packs and the plug fired. I bought a new power pack on ebay for 50 bucks. boat has worked fine since. Make sure all plug wires are connected. Number one plug wire came off the plug while I was running the boat. That caused stress on the power pack and eventually caused it to malfunction.
