running temp of a 125 force

what should the running temp be in the ocean on this boat? what is the pegged range? thanx all

Between 140 and 160 degrees is nominal.<br />BUT, more importantly, is an equal temperature all over the cooling circuit. Nowhere on the block or head of your engine, should the temperature become so hot, that you can't touch it for one second without getting a burn. Outside of that ,and the obvious looking for burnt or blistered paint, wrenchies use "temp sticks", all over the engine when testing for this equal heat distribution. These sticks are like Crayons. You draw a line on the area to be tested, and run the motor to normal operating temps. If any of these lines melt, change color, or run, you have heat issues.<br />A 160*, or 180* stick is what i have used.

i have a water temp guage just isntalled. will that surfice?
