I've read many a thread about people helping to identify a particular motor. I haven't been able to locate a reference table so I'll have to ask for someones expertise... I have a 75 HP chrysler magnapower 757HC with serial # 22226, any idea what year it is? Also, I see many a reference to the chrysler force. Is that synonymous with the magnapower? Thanks...

Re: 75 HP Chrysler Magnapower

Magnapower is battery powered ign. and the later Magnapower II and Force engines used alternator driven systems. Also the 1976 75 hp engine were serial 757HB #15150 and up--Bob

All right...so I guess it's a 1977?? I was also wanting to install a tach. I've been doing some reading and I found some info that some chrysler's have 20 pole alternators and require a special part or adapter. Is this the case with mine? Thanks -Steve

Can't you check, by looking up under the flywheel and counting the windings

Mercury has your motor listed as a 1976 model. Here is the link. Some of the parts for your motor still exists. Scroll down to 75 HP and find model number and click on it. Mercury site

Re: 75 HP Chrysler Magnapower

Hi all,

Just have a question: I just bought a Chrysler Magnapower 75HP, but can't find the exact modelnumber anywere...
Any idea how I can determine the exact modelnumber and my second question is: what are the exact specs of the battery I should use (It didn't come with a battery).

Thank you in advance for your support!
