I called around and bought a new sensor. The problem is I can't seem to locate it on the engine. I'm pretty sure it has one, I just don't know where it is.

On my 120hp SportJet, which I'm pretty sure is the same engine, the sensor is held into the cylinder head with a snap ring. Look by the number two spark plug. The temperature switch has a single wire coming from it. If memory serves it is about he diameter of a penny.

Why are you replacing it?

I saw what you're talking about, but I thought the temp. sensor was held in with 4 bolts on the top of the motor.

It hasn't been replaced in years and I was having problems this last weekend so I figured I would change it.

The thermostat is the device under the four bolts at the top of the motor...

Which are you changing out?
