I am trying to figure out my overheat sensor on my 85 hp force,,,when in a pan of water it activates at approx 165 degrees,,,and when I shut the heat off,it loses continuity at approx 145 degrees.Is this about the right specs,,,1989 85 hp motor.
At 165 deg...there will be no damage done to the engine..We expect the engine to run around the 140 mark..so your sending unit should be fine.<br /><br />TMD
