I finally got lower unit off. there is a roll pin connecting upper shift rod to lower unit located at top of L.U. this roll pin came out thus I could not shift. Should I use a new roll pin or will a drop of thread lock be sufficient to keep roll pin in place? I re-assembled using blue loctite. Do you think this will hold up?//

look real close at your pin,it should be drilled for a cotter pin on one end and have a shoulder on the other.if its not showing signs of wear should be ok to use with a new cotter pin

THERE ARE TWO PINS IN THE LINKAGE, ONE HAS A HEAD ON ONE END AND A COTTER PIN ON THE OTHER END, THE SECOND PIN IS A SIMPLE ROLLED PIN FLUSH ON EACH END OF LINKAGE. THE ROLLED PIN IS THE ONE THAT CAME OUT, I PRESSED BACK IN PLACE HOPING THE LOCTITE WILL HOLD IT THERE....???
