Hello All, I hope that I haven't doubled my post as the last one disappeared on me! I picked up a force 50. I have good compression 135 and 140. I have good spark also. It is missing the transom clamps to hold it on the boat. What years will fit? I doubt that this had electric trim and tilt. Thank you all for your help.

Your engine look like a 90-91 year model.
From 1988 and up will fit.
The clamps for 50Hp Force from 1986 and earlier has a different partnumber then from 1988 and up.

Thank you Nordin and Jerry. I kind of thought that it might be a 90's model. Off to Ebay I go.

The older will still fit.
the difference is in 88 they started through bolting the transom.

Make sure you use stainless bolts and brass nuts.
I think I have them. You pay postage? you can have them.

It says US Marine on the cowl, that places it between 1984 till 1986. In 84 Chrysler sold the engine to US Marine, in 1986 US Marine was acquired by Brunswick. After which the Engines said Force by Mercury

jimmbo..... In this case you are wrong. That lower cowl and hood were on the 1988 year models and up and US Marine decal was on the engines up until about 1995 when Brunswick (Mercury) started to use more components from their OB line.

I have had two of those Force 50Hp and it was an 1989 and 1990 year model.
I think the blue decals were on the 1991 model.
