I want to remove my tilt & trim units completely from the Chrysler 70 Outboard and while reading in my repair manual it say to remove the lower shaft forst before removing the upper shaft holding the unit in place. HOW DO I REMOVE THE LOWER AND OR UPPER SHAFTS? DO I DRIVE THEM OUT FROM ONE SIDE TO THE OTHER? My intention is to get the whole unit to my work bench so I can disassemble it for rebuilding during the winter season ready for Spring.

Manual says to use a flat center punch and drive the lower shaft out then the upper shaft out.

How do I raise the engine all the way up and lock it into place? Hold it up with a timber support or does this engine have a upper lock, locking it all the way up.

HELP PLEASE
I CAN DO PICTURES IF NECESSARY.

The best way is to remove the motor from the boat.
Then removal becomes a lot easier.
