Hi all,

I just came upon an old 1973 Chrysler 6HP outboard, model number 63BD. Is there anywhere I can find a parts diagram or the like without having to buy the manual?

I go it for free and the guy who gave it to me said it worked fine up until recently when there was a coil failure. If it's not fixable I might use it for some experiments but would rather give it a go at repair first. At the very least I'd like to know the prop specs for it.
Thanks in advance!

Have you done anything to it yet?

Do a compression and spark test, then clean the carb.

Something that old?? the parts diagrams are harder to find.

A manual for that motor try e-bay Franz Marine
Clymer, Seloc are fair but don't have the specifics for your or any one's motors.

The difference between the 73 and 75/6 is not much.
The parts are about the same.

I haven't done anything to it yet. The person who I got it from did a little bit of work to it and took a few pieces off of it.

I'll take a look at the later model to see if it matches up. Thanks for the tips.

Mastertech (Maxrules) do not have wire diagrams to the smaller Chryslers.

Check out Ebay if you want parts cataloge or wire diagrams.
Do as Jerry suggest, these Chryslers has a simple regular magneto ignition system with points and coils under the flywheel.
