My 88 125 has been froze for years. Just pull the prop off, anode etc, and take the 2 lower bolts out of the bearing carrier. Motor tilted down as far as possible, 90% oil will flow out. Make sure the O Rings on the bolts are good, or replace with new. Bolts back, fill it up. Easy peasy...

Any suggestions on something good to flush the old fluid out with? I need totally fresh fluid in the gearcase as the old fluid has water in it. Also, what type of ATF, Power Steering Fluid, Etc. is best to refill unit?

80/90 gear oil. I use Walmartian oil.
Some use different more expensive oils. I've used the WM oil for 20+ years.
As long as it doesn't leak?? you shouldn't have a problem.
The flushJust drain it good and fill it with new oil and then after an hour of running change it again.

WATER??? you need to pressure test it before yu try to use it.
Follow the directions I posted before.
