1987 force 125 fuel pump help.

Hello all, ive got an issue i just cant seem to figure out. My fuel pump diaphram keeps blowing out. I have changed it twice in 8 months and it failed again today. Ran fine going out to the spot, turned motor off, fished for an hour, started it up and it was bad. Any ideas or help is much appreciated.

Lately, when it comes to fuel diaphragm it's a hit or miss kinda thing. Try replacing it again just make sure you get a replacement from a reputable dealer.

This might stop the problem.
Install 2 diaphragms.
Figure out why they are blowing?
​Bought 2 88/85hp and was doing routine maint. and was replacing the diaphragms.
The pump on 1 had double diaphragms.
Ran great with the 2.

Compression and spark test, all plugs burning the same?
Sucking air somewhere causes backfires, so does having the air screws set wrong.

Start motor, can of starting fluid, spray around the base of the carbs and on the intake side of the motor.

​Reset the air screws.

Backfires and barbs on the screws can start tears.
