Anybody familiar with the internals on a 150 block, the lower crank bearing has a hole for the bearing locate pin but the block has no locate pin in the lower journal, it's just a smooth journal, I know the crank is held in position by the upper bearing, just thought it was odd that the bottom bearing journal with the seal had no locate pin, guess it's held in position by torquing the block?

That bearing is the same one used from 79-94.
If there is no locating pin it makes it WAY easier to install the crank.
Trying to wiggle the 5 pins into place is a B, doing it on a 4cyl. sucks.
They call for silicone around the bearing.

Pita482-that's an interesting paint scheme. If I could bother you, could you start a new post and please tell us about your engine painting. Did you prime and paint? What kind of paint did you use (brand and type)? Did you do chemical conversion coating on the aluminum parts first, or just prime and paint. I'm interested because I might do a rebuild myself and I'm going to be doing a lot of corrosion work before hand and want maximum protection (I operate almost exclusively in salt water). Appreciate whatever you can share. Jerry, don't beat me up, I asked for a new post.
