I need some help with the wiring.
I have a ?68 35hp outboard with only three wires connected. Red, yellow/black and green.

Engine starts and runs but I cant stop it. I used to use the green wire for choke to stop the engine, now the choke solenoid died and I need to fix it.

There are only two more wires coming to the terminal from under the flywheel, both of them are black.
Could anyone give some idea, how the engine stop function should be initiated on that kind of engines.

I do not have a good picture of that side at the moment.
Any help and thoughts are welcome.

The two black wires are the killing circuit.
Each of them are connected to the points, one wire at #1 cyl. points and the other to the #2 cyl. points.

By shorting them to each other you will kill the engine.
Get a push button that is normaly open (closing when you push the button) and connect the black wires to the terminals, then you can kill it by pushing the button.

Thank you, I am installing an ignition switch it has 4 wires and if I remove the key two wires are shorted out, I will use them.
