I have removed the stator and trigger from my 1995 Mercury Force 120 hp.
Testing these for resistance (RED STATOR) 2 yellow wires I got .3 and .4. , Contuniuity 2 yellow wires I got a beep. Stator also has a Green/white and White/green wire, I dont get anything on these. But I am a lady just learning to use multimeter. I do not have a DVA attachement. What should I be getting on the green wires for ohms and should i get a beep on continuity.
Then there is the Trigger: I have a purple wire and white wire that read 840 ohms and a dark brown or black wire and a White/black wire that gets 840 ohms. What other test should i do to make sure a good trigger?
Please give me specific details, new at this multimeter stuff.

The Green/White and White/Green wires are the stator windings for the ignition system. You should read 500 -700 OHM's between those two wires. Double check them again and if still no reading, then the winding is bad. You need a new stator. 840 OHM's for the trigger windings is normal.
