1996 Force lower unit & 1999 Mercury interchangable??

I have a 1996 Force 120 HP ELPT lower unit that lose reverse. Looking at a used lower unit off a 1999 Mercury 75 HP ELPTO to purchase online. Wanting to know if these two lower units will interchange?

Is the 75HP 3 jaw or 6 jaw? 6 jaws will not interchange without changing shift lever from on top, which requires removing power head. Keep looking, as many of the Mercury LUs are interchangeable with yours. I am currently running a 199X Merc LU on my 1997 120 HP. If you do decide to repair the LU, consider upgrading to stronger 6 jaw unit. Above shift lever caveat applies though.
