Just bought my father a 1990 Force 120 Outboard Bayliner Capri Cuddy that was in very good shape, and my mechanic said the motor was in good shape.

The main thing is that the Trim/Tilt leaks fluid and the motor falls slowly... he wanted 5-600 to fix and said the parts are hard too come by.

So 1 can anyone recommend what I am looking for to replace since motors are all over the internet for 150.

and 2 how hard is it to replace once I get whatever the parts I need. (assuming it is like 1 big kit?)

On the very front page of this forum there are three sticky threads. The second one includes Q&A on 3 wire T&T. You might want to take a look at that and if your's is the same style, then do some of the leak down test to identify the faulty component. Then post your results and we'll take it from there.

Where is it leaking?
The T@T system is a 3 part setup.
#1 is the trim ram and the tilt.
#2 is the electric motor.
#3 is the hyd. pump under the electric motor.

The electric motor is the cheap part.
The hyd. pump can be rebuilt.
The tilt parts can be hard to fix and replace.
$5-600 isn't really that bad depending on what's wrong?
If it's leaking oil and drifting down? that can be 2 different things wrong??
