Question I rebuilt my 1990 force outboard 4yrs ago and installed wiseco pistons,
My question is do these pistons have a coating on top?
I took my cylinder head off to clean the carbon off the pistons and rubbed through the coating and now the piston is shiny in spots, so have I done damage to the piston or is it gonna be ok? Thanks in Advance for your reply!

You will need to change out all the pistons now, don't run it like this.

I don't see any reason for being alarmed at running them. The "coating" was probably just a product of combustion and cleaning that coating off did nothing as far a running is concerned. JMHO

Thanks, wiseco said it's an anodized coating but won't hurt piston if some was removed

My comment was in jest, the coating isn't of great importance.
