Will these engines benefit from installing one of the spin on filters? Was looking at one at Bass Pro and was debating on purchasing one. Was looking into since getting back home and a lot of different sites are saying the Racor with the clear water separator are better when compared to the others without the clear water separator. Any thoughts? Getting the boat ready for the water again as we are starting to thaw out!

IF??? you have a built in tank, then yes the water sep filter would be a benefit.
The Racor with the see through bottom is good but expensive.
If the boat is used a lot and winterized right the cheapo will work.
Keep the tank full and stored with fuel stabilizer for the storage.

I change my filter every year and find almost no water.

Don't have a built in tank, just two 6 gallon red plastic tanks. Was debating between a spin on filter or an inline filter and if it is really necessary. Been running for 2 years without one so far.
