I need the test spec for a 1988 125hp.
I have the stator spec but the trigger color code seems to be different on the trigger.
It has multi colored trigger leads.
I tried CDI but didn't have any luck?
Outboard Ignition too??
Thanks,Jerry

Jerry send me a PM.
I have the factory service manual 1988 thru 1991 A models (OB4642).

Wright the spec. values you want and I try to give you the answers and I will also translate and correspond the colours for the wires.
There are one colour or multiple (three colours) at the trigger.

Thanks for the offer.
I got a color chart and figured out the tests.
Problem might be??
It OHMS right about 38-40 on all 4 cyl
The second is voltage.
#1 is 7 #2 is 5 #3 is 6 #4 is 25V DVA .

I contacted CDI and they haven't replied to my question of?? is 25V too much? Would that make the trigger bad??

I just rebuilt this 88/125 it needed 2 lower pistons.
Compression is about 160 on all 4.
I don't think I did anything wrong during assy..

It starts and backfires.
But stops the backfiring when #4 is unhooked???

It was supposed to run before he brought it to me??
I rebuild. try to start?? NO spark??
Tested stator. BAD!!

Continued to run crappy and backfiring.

Found #4 coil bad??

NEVER had this much trouble on ANY motor.

Thanks Nordin.
According to the good people at CDI.
They say the pack is probably bad??
No mention about the 25v on trigger lead #4?????????

Going to replace it today and hope it works.
My customer want to fish in a tournament this weekend.
