Hi everyone,

Trying to troubleshoot a "no spark" issue on a 1968 Sea King 3.5 hp (Chrysler?), but I'm not sure how to get the flywheel off. The 3 holes are not threaded. Help?

Thanks.

Thanks for the pics.
They are usually key driven and hard to remove.
I've found a pry bar and a torch on the top of the flywheel.

That don't work?? Drill and tap the 3 holes on the top.
1/4 -20 or 5/16-16(???) might work.
Then an automotive puller.

Don't drill too deep.

Thanks for the reply.

Tapping attempt did not go well, BUT...good news...I put the bolt in on top and hit it a few times with a hammer and the flywheel popped loose. Breaker point was pretty bad. Cleaned it up and now I've got good spark.

Please share a general Pic of the engine under the flywheel, if you still have the flywheel off. Are the point?s gaped the usual .020? A friend has an engine similar that came with a 1969 40 HP Evinrude he purchased.

Flywheel is back on and everything is put back together, but I did take a few pics though. As you can see it was pretty dirty. I cleaned the point with 220 grit and gapped at .020. All cleaned up and running good now.
