hello,

I recently purchased a 1975 bayliner with a 87 force 125. yesterday the tilt/trim quit on me. it currently has an arco 3 wire that's wired to a switch in the dash, no switch in the throttle control. that motor I'm pricing at 350. here is my question. since it's an aftermarket switch, can I buy the cheaper model t/t motor that's a 2 wire and just run a power supply to the switch? not trying to be cheap, but 200 bucks can buy me some gear haha.

thanks for any help

Wiring's no problem. May have to add a couple of relays but will the motor match up to the pump?

They used 2 types of T@T motor/pumps on the 87.
A 2 wire and a 3 wire.
You have a model#
Does it have the relays under the hood?

Yes you can use the 2 wire.
There is a difference in the housing and electric motors.
The later models the reservoir is bigger
But they both have 4 hyd. lines and should do the same job.

Just get a heavy duty switch??(if the switch is bad) (switch can be cleaned)
Just figure out the wiring.
The switch on the dash should have a hot lead already?
The older model 87 all had the tilt switch on the dash.

You sure the motor went bad?
What's it doing?

Oh yea welcome.
