I have a 1995 Force 75 hp the motor seems to be "locked" down> at first I thought it was a tilt trim problem.
after doing some checking it seems that the tilt trim would work if not for something catching some where i can,t see or can,t find. I don,t want to put to much pressure on it without some iea what is causing the problem

Have you tried lifting the lower unit while someone else taps the tilt switch?

Or try releasing the tilt n trim manual release screw. Then you can lift and wiggle the leg as much as you want without fighting against the hydraulics.

Manual release screw is located on the starboard side of the transom bracket, you need to insert a screwdriver through on of the holes on the bracket.

I can't think of anything that it could be catching on.

FYI, you motor is not a 1995 model.
The 75 hp started with 1996.

The 75 was made in 96-99??
Pics of the mid section?

Sometimes undoing the bottom fitting will let the drive be lifted.

There shouldn't be a "catch" on the unit.

Thanks guys, I have pretty much tried everything listed but will double check everything again this afternoon. tag does say 1996 but serial number will only work for parts as 1995.
