Couple questions regarding powerpacks using a car coil & kill switch lanyards!

I read somewhere about a conversion to do away with the troublesome powerpack using a car coil? Can you explain this to me and exactly how its done and also I want to fit a kill switch with a lanyard do u know where I tap into to stop the engine if I get ousted from the boat cheers

A while ago there was a few posts on the change over.
Nordin posted something about that.
​On the newer motors, one of the white leads from the ignition switch is where the kill switch is connected.

Please first of all, what typ of engine do we talk about?
3-4 cyl. Chryslers and early Force engines with beltdriven distributor can be converted to automotive typ ignition system with points.
Later 3-4 cyl.Chryslers and Force engines with Prestolite CDI system can also be converted BUT way difficult and in my opinion not worth it and no option.
