I sorry if this is not posted in the right forum. I just bought a 1995 18' Spectrum sport with a 120hp mercury force motor. I live in the Buffalo,NY area. I'm planning on fishing the lower Niagara river of the winter whenever possible. As far as maintenance what should I be doing in-between outings. Thanks for any help

All you need to do is lower the motor all the way down and do a quick crank by tapping the key to expel any water that might be in the pump between the impeller blades.

You may be told that the fuel should be treated, but that's for months long storage over the winter and not really needed. If you go out regularly, even irregularly, during the winter months don't worry about it and bundle up. The motor will handle the cold better than you will.

Not 'til you put her up for the winter. You don't fog if she sits for a month or 6 weeks during summer, do you?

Ok thanks. I wasn't sure if the cold temperatures made a difference with an outboard. The last 3 yrs I have had an I/O. I appreciate the help
