Greetings all...

I just purchased a 1997 Trophy 1703 with a Force 90hp Outboard of the same year.

I brought it out twice so far, and it runs great...Im very happy with it.

I have been doing basic maintenance to it at the direction of the manual, such as replacing the lower unit transmission oil, greasing the fittings,..etc.

However, one thing I havn't done is replaced the fuel filter, because I cant find the damn thing.

I've looked throught the manual, searched youtube, and went over the engine with a fine tooth comb...with no luck.

Can anyone give me an idea as to where to find it?

Thanks in advance.

There should be an in line fuel filter installed on the fuel hose between the fuel pump and the carburetors. If you don't see one, then someone has removed it. Easy to put one on. Cut the fuel line between the fuel pump and carburetors and install the filter with hose clamps.

ON the motor you have the filter usually ends up under the carbs down low.
Or just follow the hose from the pump to the carb.
If not do what pnwboat suggested.
I use Fram Filters from WM G-2 or 3 or 12. Depending on the hose size.
It's a good idea to add a water seperating fuel filter between the tank and the pump and under the deck out of the way.

Oh yea Welcome!
