I have a 1969 9.9 that has a weak spark on one cylinder and a 1978 6hp that has great spark. The 9.9 is magneto and the 6 has a stator plate and coils. Both are twin cylinder.
There may be an issue with space for the coils but if everything else works, i will find a work around for that.
What I want to know is has anyone done this swap, and does anyone know if the flywheel tapers are the same?
The timing links etc etc will probably have to be adjusted.
The idea is to have a more reliable spark on the 9.9. The 6 has other issues of reed valves etc and is not worth my while repairing as I have no use for it.
