Can I replace the fuel line fittings on the gas tank with some other motor make? That is, the male brass fitting that screws into the top of the fuel tank and the female fitting that connects that male brass fitting to the hose on the gas tank side of the business.

I am having trouble finding Chrysler fittings, and wondering if i replace the brass male fitting attached to fuel tank and the female fitting that connects to it, with another brand?

Thanks.

Put "Force outboard fuel line connectors" in the search line.
LOTS of them..

Thanks. The previous owner seems to have put a Johnson connector on a long time ago. It broke and started leaking. I replaced it with a new set of Johnson connectors (both the male & female parts), and it works fine, I guess.

I also have the Mercury type on hand (the aluminum twist & lock thing that looks like a torpedo). I like that one because it feels sturdier. And because it looks like a torpedo or 1950's rocket ship.

Wondering if fuel flow / volume differs between the make of the connectors.

The connectors can flow enough for a motor up to 225 hp or bigger.
Some BIG outboards are hooked direct to the tank so there is no restriction.
My twin 88/85hp use a 1/4" fuel line.
It supplies plenty.

The "bad" about inline connectors.
The Force Chrysler has a rubber seal that goes bad and sucks air.
The Mercury does the same.
I've bought Tempo Mercury connectors and they were bad from the box(try figuring that one out) "Yea but it's NEW!!!"
Tempo squeezies can be bad new too.

Don't cheap out. Buy GOOD!!
