Will 92-95 90HP wiring harness work on 1989 85HP

I read somewhere that someone was able to upgrade their 85HP from the original 1989 to a 92-25 style ignition.
​Does anyone have more information on this?

​I had a small fire and either need to rebuild my wiring or upgrade and would prefer to upgrade if possible.

The wiring harnesses are different.
​But the swap probably could be done.
What "new" ignition do you have?
They used 3 kinds in those years??

I actually don't have a new ignition yet but I have to get one soon. Everything above the fuel filter is toast so at minimum I need to replace that.

eBay has a bunch of parts but so far have not found a complete Force ignition for sale.

Was looking at Craigslist.
In Michigan or Wisconsin, maybe Minnesota ?
Look up Force in the boat part section.
I saw a complete wiring harness and parts.
