Working on a 25hp
The driveshaft is locked in the splines on the end of the crank.
Any way to remove?

I've hooked vice grips on the shaft and tried to hammer it down.
Doesn't move at all.

Usually I can get it to come out, NOT!!!

Suggestions?

jerryjerry have you been able to remove the "rest of the LU" from the leg ? As you says you hooked vise grips around the shaft.

If you moved the LU away try to penetrate the shaft/crank with rustremover (fluid), diesel or mix half of acetone and automatic transmisson oil (homemade rustremover).and penetrate with.

If you are able to remove the head from the midleg it is easier to process the shaft/crank.
If not budget, try to heat with a torch if you are able to reach the crank/shaft.

Thanks Nordin,
The owner is gonna hold off for now.

It's a 250$ motor and he's gonna spend WAY more than that!!!

Please keep posting and include any pic of home made pullers .
