Identification sticker

Friend of mine has a late 90's force that I might buy buy the identification sticker with model and serial # is unreadable. Any other place I can find this info?

You can find the year stamped on the starter or on the motor leg insides if both are original. But I'm not aware where to find the model or serial number besides the transom clamp sticker. The other option is to post pics of the motor without the cowl and members can try to identify the year and model but not the serial number.

Man that sucks that its not anywhere else stamped. Makes me wary of buying since I would have a hard time buying parts

Some boat parts store usually just use year and HP to narrow the parts you need. They also have a parts breakdown diagram which you can compare to what you need to ID parts. Try going to boatsdotnet. Out of respect to this forum sponsor, I cannot provide a link as it is a competitor's store.
