Yes it will fit.
The fuelpump was the same from 35Hp and up for all Chryslers.
Later they changes to an other typ mounted directly on the block.

Was fishing Saginaw Bay in Mi. Waves kicked up to 12ft.
We were in a 1966 16ft aluminum with 40Johnson.
Trying desperately to get back to shore.
Doing fine until a bigger boat cut us off and I had to throttle down.
When I did that the motor quit.
The float bowl came off and the gasket fell deep down inside the motor.\
Luckily I had a piece of electrical tape to fashion a gasket of sorts.
Made it back in but thought we were gonna die.
The waves would pick us up and we'd drop.
Ended up breaking the seats out and bruised over 40% of my body from the sudden stop at the bottom.

Make sure the bowls in tight and secured!!!

I took the one off my 1974 55hp Chrysler it fits but when I prime my pump it leaks gas am I not tightening it enough, I don't want to crack it I'm finger tightening it now,

Still haven't gotten mine yet from ebay but thought I'd try the 1974 fuel pump bowl.

Check the gasket and replace if worn. Check so that the bowl is centered to the pumpbody. If not it will leak because of the gasket not seal right.

Where the heck would you ever find a gasket for a 1971 fuel site pump bowl lol... I just bought a 1974 engine maybe I'll just swap out the fuel pump and not have to worry about a gasket.

Well try Franz Marine, he will have if it is available.

BUT you can make one out of a piece of gasket papier. Take a thicker typ of gasket papier about 020 in.
Do not know how it is in US but here in Sweden you can buy gasket material and I think there is a typ like cork that is thicker.
Use the glasbowl as a template and cut out with a pair of scissors.

Try valley Sales in Prudenville, Mi.
He has tons of older stuff.
Try flipping the gasket upside down??
