Both will fit. The one without the red wire is the new style I think.
The red wire is hot even if the ignition is turned of and that is not nesessery in the new style CDI pack.
The purpose of the red wire is to keep the capacitors charged in the pack even if the engine is off.
I think the new one without red wire is modified because the red and blue wire has the same source,
The only different is that the blue one runs from the ignition switch and is hot only in ign,/run position.
Maybe it is an improvment of the CDI pack and it will last longer. The pack will not be hot all the time even if the engine is of.
That will last the electronic components longer.
