HELP WITH TORQUE SPECS PLEASE !!! 1989 Force 150

Hey all...

I am changing out the exhaust manifold gasket on my 1989 Force 150hp...

Can someone share torque specs for the 1/4inch exhaust manifold bolts AND the cylinder head bolts for this beast please......

70 inch pounds on the exhaust cover, and 225 inch pounds on the head bolts. Just want to point out that those are inch pounds, not foot pounds.

Well, what is the problem you are looking to solve? Here are a couple of photos of the exhaust manifold and block showing what you are about to get into. Remember that the head is tightened in a spiral pattern from the center outward in three steps to final torque and there are two 1/4 X 20 bolts near the port center.

Hi,,,Getting water in a few of the cylinders in the middle...I took the beast apart in the fall and just haven;t had the ambition to get back to it...No signs of any fractures in the cylinders...The exhaust manifold was suggested when I posted the issue in the fall on this site...When I disassembled, it wasn't apparent where the problem was but did have signs of water (rust/corrosion) on the bolts in the manifold around the cylinders effected...So I got the part ordered and hope to work on it next week...Any further insight is certainly most welcome...TY...

Any rust or water on the plugs.
