I am wanting to convert my manual start motor to electric start model # 202h9k. Is this possible and cost efficient? What parts would I need? Thanks in advance.
I can see why some would want to. I spent 42 years as a powersports tech yanking on snowmobile and outboard recoil starters. BOTH of my shoulders are shot. I can barely start my 1958 3 horse Johnson!
Jb4507hd Of course you need a starter AND you need the bracket who the starter is mounted in. The starter solenoid and it will be mounted on the bracket just under the electrical terminal. Wireharness and keyswitch.
Check out Ebay, Craiglist and that kind of sites.
Starters and brackets from Chrysler 25 and 30Hp 1973 - later will fit and the "new" 35Hp from 1976 - later.
20Hp will fit from 1978 and later.
These enginefamily was introduced in 1973 as 25 and 30Hp. The 35Hp came 1976.
AND REMEMBER early 20Hp and early 35Hp will NOT fit. They are completly different engines then yours.
